Gucci / Tom Ford

After an experience as design director at Perry Ellis, Texas-born, former model and actor Tom Ford was appointed creative director of Gucci in 1994, when the brand was going through its hardest phase. In his ten years at Gucci, he presented a sequence of disruptive and provocative collections, redesigning the aesthetic of the 1990s thanks to his signature hyper-sexy outfits and glamorous silhouettes. In collaboration with Carine Roitfeld and Mario Testino, Ford also produced a series of memorable, scandalous campaigns, earning Gucci the reputation as the hottest brand of the decade. He left in 2004 and then founded his own brand.
