Terms and Conditions of Shipping

The following Terms and Conditions of Shipping are part of the Terms and Conditions of Sale, and together with the Terms and Conditions of Use and the Privacy Policy, govern the shipping and delivery of items (also the “Products”) purchased on shopthestory.it (also the “Seller”).

Please read these Terms and Conditions of Shipping carefully before ordering any Product. Request for further information can be sent to the email address info@shopthestory.it. The Seller ships the Products with DHL, by applying to the total amount of the purchase the following shipping rates:

Shipment will be made within three (3) working days from order reception and payment. The Seller takes this time to wash, check and prepare the Product for the shipping. Please also note that orders submitted after 17:00 will be processed starting from the following working day.

Once the Product has been collected by DHL we will immediately send you an email with the tracking number, so you can check the status of delivery at any time at the web address https://www logistics.dhl/it-it/home/tracciabilita.html

The terms and conditions of shipment applied by DHL to the Seller, an excerpt of which is shown below, are the same as applied to you by the Seller, to be considered an integral and essential part of these Terms and Conditions of Shipment. Shipments cannot be delivered to PO boxes or postal codes.

Shipments are delivered to the recipient’s address specified by the shipper (or by the recipient itself, but not necessarily to the named recipient personally. DHL may inform the recipient of an incoming shipment or a missed delivery. Some alternative delivery options may be offered to the recipient, such as delivery on another day, delivery in front of their house, delivery at another address or at a DHL Service Point o at a third party.

In case of any objection to the delivery of the shipment, the Client [Shopthestory.it] shall provide DHL with written instructions on how to handle the goods, and in particular shall specify whether: (a) DHL is requested to make another attempt; (b) DHL is requested to return the shipment to the shipper; (c) DHL is requested to carry the shipment/goods to another address.

All the relevant costs shall be charged to the Client [Shopthestory.it]. It is understood that the Client [Shopthestory.it] will be held liable for any cost whatsoever deriving from the management of its shipments. Times of delivery shall be intended as approximate and not binding in any way, Fees charged to the Client [Shopthestory.it] for any of the requested services shall be those provided for in the attached tariff. Should DHL pay the customs charges in advance, also on behalf of the recipient, then DHL will be entitled to ask the latter to pay a fee for this service.

All the costs arising from the carrying out of the customs operations, including taxes, duties, customs fines, storage costs or any other expenses incurred due to the customs activities carried out, shall be charged to the recipient Should the recipient fail to pay said amounts, the Client [Shopthestory.it] shall have to do so.

Il Cliente [Shopthestory.it] resterà comunque obbligato in solido per il pagamento di ogni importo relativo alla spedizione nel caso in cui il destinatario o qualunque terzo obbligato ai pagamento stesso, non adempia alla sua obbligazione.

Should the recipient or any third party bound to pay the costs of carriage fail to fulfil its obligation, the Client shall remain liable for the payment of the shipment amount. Any additional cost charged to the Seller by DHL, such as customs fees, stowage costs, return costs for non-delivery, etc., will be charged to you by the Seller, under penalty of cancellation of the delivery and withdrawal from sale by the Seller with consequent return of the Product to the Seller by DHL or, if the delivery had already been carried out, an injunction to return the Product to the Seller at your expense. In the latter case, upon receipt, the returned Product will be carefully examined. If the Product is found to comply with the original condition, the Seller will refund the amount paid by you, withholding the additional costs incurred.

As far as possible customs duties on imported goods are concerned, applied by countries that are not part of the European Union, it is your responsibility, if you live in one of these countries, to contact the local custom office about the amount of these charges before sending the order form. In any case, the purchase can be considered completed only upon payment of these charges to DHL, which will retain the Product until payment is made.
