Jean Paul Gaultier

French designer Jean-Paul Gaultier realized his interest in fashion as a child, creating his first conical-bra for his teddy-bear Nana and designing his very first collection for his mother and grandmother. On his 18th birthday, in 1968, he started working with Pierre Cardin. In 1976 he showed his first collection, which included his signature sailor suits and male skirts, earning himself the nickname “enfant terrible”. In 1990 he created the infamous pink satin, conical-breasted corset for Madonna’s Blond Ambition Tour. In 2014 he ceased his ready-to-wear label to focus on his haute-couture line.
