Lanvin / Elbaz

Founded in 1889, Lanvin is the oldest French fashion house still in operation. The label had been in a long decline when Alber Elbaz was hired in 2001. Born in Casablanca, Morocco, Elbaz had previously worked at Yves Saint Laurent, Guy Laroche and Geoffrey Beene. Drawing inspiration from Lanvin’s legacy, during his fourteen-years as creative director Elbaz drove the brand to become one of the most coveted one in the fashion industry, thanks to his signature aesthetic – think of Grecian-style drapings, feminine designs, gauzy dresses, unfinished hems, lavish embroideries, masterful ruffles and statement jewelry.
